Although there really isn’t anything new to this article, HALCALI was featured on the UK website for the anime company, Manga. The write up gives a nice, laid-back summary to HALCALI’s career; complete with links to apropos videos.
It’s a quick little thing and worth a read! It’s nice to see the girls getting their name out there on English language sites once again!
HALCALI held two Halloween themed concerts this past weekend, one at an event in Sapporo on the 28th and one on the 29th in Shibuya. The Shibuya live is particularly notable because it was an all night club event, which the girls have done from time-to-time, promoting their music to the more trendy subculture of Japan. The girls held the event along with long-time friends: Nakata Yasutaka (of capsule; the producer of Perfume), DJ ILMARI (of RIP SLYME & TERIYAKI BOYZ),YAPAN a.k.a. Yosuke Hiroyama (of RYUKYUDISCO) and others.
It’s good to see the girls continuing to be active with some of their music genres’ most popular acts (Nakata, Ilmari). HALCALI always has good people watching over them, at least.
YUCALI tweeted about the Shibuya event, bursting with happiness, saying that she and HALCA even sang one more song than they intended. A friend of mine went and reported that the even was so packed, he was afraid he wouldn’t get in.
And here’s the video of the new song 今日の私はキゲンがいい “Kyou no Watashi wa KIGEN ga Ii; I’m Feelin’ Good Today!” Poor quality and a good portion of the beginning was cut out because of the radio DJ, but it’s better than nothing.
HALCALI has another new song coming out called “今日の私はキゲンがいい” (Kyou no watashi wa KIGEN ga ii; I’m Feelin’ Good Today!). The song is available on chaku-uta, and it is being used as the E-hyphen World Gallery TV CM song.
You can hear the instrumental track and a portion fo the chorus by viewing the cm on the E-hyphen website. Wait for everything to load, then click one of the top two CM links.
There is also a promotional live celebrating the release of the song on Ameba Studio which will be aired on Ustream!
Here is the URL
Date: September 21st
Time: 10pm – 11pm JST (GMT +9)
Check your local times and see when it will be airing in your location.
Make sure you double-check it and don’t miss the live performance so we can support HALCALI internationally. Also, make sure to tweet YUCALI after the performance to show your support! She does genuinely appreciate it.
As far as catching up goes, HALCALI have been playing various lives and festivals since HALCALI SENSATION has last updated, the was Harajuku Kawaii with capsule and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, JILLE 10TH ANNIVERSARY PARTY, ROCK IN JAPAN FES 2011, LaQua 8th Anniversary Special Live, KOYABU SONIC 2011 and more.
They even did a T-shirts designing collaboration with T-ROCKS seen here. They wanted to create a design that went with their recent album (hence the Girl!Girl!Girl! x Boy!Boy!Boy! shirts), and then a design that went with the feeling of Tokyo (100% FRESH TOKYO design).
And here’s a very recent photo of the girls from a few days ago.
R&B artist Crystal Kay and duo HALCALI have both revealed that they will be performing their newest songs at a release party for “Tofu Kozo”!

======
So it looks like HALCALI already has a new song in the works. Sometimes there is a lot of dead time between them performing a song and releasing it as a single, so I don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up, but they have been really amazing with their release schedule lately. Hopefully we will be seeing this song hit shelves soon!
Hope everyone is enjoying / enjoyed their Valentine’s Day! I hope most of spent some time to use TOKYO CONNECTION and a few other HALCALI songs as your theme songs for the day!
This is just a quick update, there will be another one in the next day (or sooner!) detailing HALCALI’s Ustream Special Valentine’s Day mini-live, including all of your posts, opinions and reviews.
Just for right now, I wanted to keep you in the Valentine’s Day spirit by presenting to you the lyrics (Kanji, Romaji, English) to Giri Choco HERE.
Enjoy!
